Improve Your Water Now! Call 866.88.Pure1

If someone asked you which beverage is the top choice for hydrating your body, you'd probably know the answer is good old pure water. On the other hand, many people are confused about the other side of the equation. You may be surprised to discover which drinks dehydrate you and which don't.

Alcohol: Okay this is an easy one. Alcohol is the most dehydrating drink, as you probably know if you ever overindulged. The best solution is to drink in moderation or at least have a glass of water in between each cocktail. If you've already overdone it, try to rehydrate before you go to sleep.

Coffee and tea: This may be the one that trips you up. Even though regular coffee and tea contain caffeine, they are hydrating. That's because they contain so much water it compensates for the fact that they make you urinate more. Keep in mind that decaffeinated coffee does contain some minimal caffeine. Tea and related drinks can vary widely in caffeine content, and many brands will have the estimated amount on the label.

Sugary drinks: There are a lot of health reasons to justify limiting your intake of regular or diet soda, but dehydration isn't one of them. Soda, juice and other sweet drinks are all hydrating. Of course, they usually have more calories than water so you need to take that into account if you’re trying to manage your weight.

Still, water deserves to be the beverage of choice for your overall health and wellbeing, and that's what Pure1 Systems specializes in. Contact us to learn more.
